Endometriosis and adenomyosis are conditions that are often associated with infertility in women. Endometriosis is characterized by the presence of tissue outside of the uterus, which can cause pain, infertility, and other symptoms. Adenomyosis is characterized by the presence of abnormal tissue in the fallopian tubes, which can also cause infertility.
Both endometriosis and adenomyosis can be diagnosed with imaging tests, such as pelvic ultrasounds and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Treatment for endometriosis and adenomyosis depends on the severity of the condition and the underlying cause. Treatment options may include pain relief medication, hormone therapy, or surgery.
Endometriosis
Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus (uterus) grows outside of the uterus. This tissue can grow on various organs in the abdomen, including the bowel, bladder, and ovaries. Symptoms of endometriosis can include pain, infertility, bleeding between periods, and bowel problems.
Adenomyosis
Adenomyosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the fallopian tubes (fallopian tubes) is found outside of the fallopian tubes. This tissue can grow on various organs in the abdomen, including the uterus, bowel, and ovaries. Symptoms of adenomyosis can include pain, infertility, bleeding between periods, and urinary problems.
