Twin paradox:
A thought experiment in special relativity that demonstrates the apparent paradoxes associated with time dilation, length contraction, and the twin paradox itself. In this paradox, two identical twins are separated from one another and sent on identical journeys at high speeds relative to each other. According to special relativity, time should pass more slowly for the twin travelling at high speed than for the twin at rest. However, according to the twin's perspective, time passes at the same rate for both twins regardless of their relative speed. This apparent paradox arises because the twin travelling at high speed is effectively moving away from the twin at rest, meaning the twin at rest measures the passage of time to be shorter than the twin travelling at high speed
