Non-inverting Amplifier
A non-inverting amplifier is an operational amplifier (op-amp) circuit that reverses the direction of the output signal relative to the input signal. This means that the output voltage is the negative of the input voltage.
Circuit Description:
A non-inverting amplifier typically consists of an op-amp, two resistors (R1 and R2), and a capacitor (C). The op-amp is connected between the input and output terminals, with the positive input terminal (V+) connected to the input signal and the negative input terminal (V-) connected to the output terminal. The output signal is connected to the positive terminal (V+) and the negative terminal (V-) of the op-amp.
Operation:
When a positive input signal is applied to the input, it causes the op-amp to amplify the negative input signal. This means that the output voltage is the negative of the input voltage. The value of the output voltage is determined by the values of R1 and R2, and by the gain of the op-amp.
Advantages:
Reversed output: The output voltage is negative of the input voltage.
High input impedance: The op-amp has a high input impedance, which reduces the effect of external circuitry on the input signal.
Low output impedance: The op-amp has a low output impedance, which allows for easy coupling to the load.
Examples:
Common emitter amplifier: This is a non-inverting amplifier where the output is connected to the emitter terminal of the op-amp.
Inverting amplifier: This is a non-inverting amplifier where the output is connected to the inverting terminal of the op-amp.
Operational amplifier circuit: A non-inverting amplifier can be used as a building block for more complex op-amp circuits, such as inverting amplifiers and summing amplifiers
