Fundamental interactions are the building blocks of the universe, involving the interaction of subatomic particles at the most basic level. These interactions give rise to the various subatomic particles and forces, which are responsible for the properties of matter and energy in everyday life.
The fundamental interactions are mediated by fundamental particles, such as the photon, gluon, and W and Z bosons. These particles are extremely small and have a very short range of action. However, they are responsible for the long range of effects of these interactions, such as the binding of protons and neutrons in atoms and the formation of the strong nuclear force.
The three fundamental interactions are:
Strong nuclear force: This force binds protons and neutrons together in the nucleus of an atom.
Electromagnetic force: This force acts between charged particles, such as electrons and protons.
Weak nuclear force: This force is responsible for the decay of subatomic particles and is responsible for the production of radioactive elements.
These fundamental interactions are responsible for the vast array of phenomena observed in the universe, including the formation of stars, the binding of atoms into molecules, and the interactions between particles at the microscopic level
