Emulsions
An emulsion is a heterogeneous system composed of two immiscible liquids, suspended in a third immiscible liquid. These three phases are immiscible because they do not mix on a molecular level, leading to a clear separation between them.
An emulsion can be formed when two immiscible liquids are mixed together, or when a solid particle is dispersed into a liquid. The dispersed phase is known as the dispersed phase, and the continuous phase is known as the continuous phase.
