Emulsions
An emulsion is a heterogeneous system composed of two immiscible liquids, suspended in a third immiscible liquid. These three phases are immiscible because they do not mix on a molecular level, leading to a clear separation between them.
An emulsion can be formed when two immiscible liquids are mixed together, or when a solid particle is dispersed into a liquid. The dispersed phase is known as the dispersed phase, and the continuous phase is known as the continuous phase. The dispersed phase can be tiny droplets, or it can be larger particles suspended in the continuous phase.
