The Vice President and the Governor are both important figures in the Indian political system. Both are elected by the elected members of a state assembly, on the recommendation of the state chief minister.
Vice President:
The Vice President holds the office of the President of India in the event the President is unable to discharge their duties.
The Vice President also acts as the President of India in the absence of the President.
The Vice President cannot hold the office of the President for more than two consecutive terms.
Governor:
The Governor is the head of the state in a state.
The Governor is responsible for maintaining order and ensuring the efficient functioning of the state.
The Governor is also responsible for implementing the laws and policies of the state.
In both the Vice President and the Governor, the election is conducted by secret ballot by the members of the state assembly. The candidate who secures the majority of the votes is elected.
