Digital banking is a revolution in the financial system that utilizes technology to offer convenient and efficient financial services to consumers and businesses. This includes electronic transactions such as NEFT, RTGS, IMPS, UPI and USSD.
NEFT (National Electronic Fund Transfer) is a system that facilitates the instant transfer of money between bank accounts within the same network. It is typically used for quick and low-cost transactions between friends and family.
RTGS (Real-Time Gross Settlement) is a system used by banks to settle payments between themselves in real-time. This means that the funds are transferred instantly, eliminating the usual 2-3 business days delay for traditional ACH transfers.
IMPS (Integrated Payment System) is a network of multiple banks that allows businesses to accept and process payments from customers. It is similar to NEFT but operates on a larger scale and is used by businesses of various sizes.
UPI (Unified Payments Interface) is a national payment system developed by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). It allows individuals to make and receive payments through their mobile phones using their bank accounts.
USSD (Unified Services Digital Platform) is a digital platform launched by the RBI for providing various financial services to customers through a single portal. It encompasses NEFT, RTGS, IMPS and UPI.
