Direct Coding:
Imagine a treasure map with a path that guides you directly to the treasure's location. This is analogous to direct coding, where a problem's solution is provided directly, guiding the solution process naturally.
Indirect Coding:
Think of a cryptic puzzle where you need to figure out the answer through a series of clues and riddles. This is indirect coding, where the solution emerges through a process of deduction and reasoning.
Example:
Direct Coding: Solve the equation 5 + 10 = 15.
Indirect Coding: Read clues in the puzzle that indicate the answer is a number between 5 and 10. Deducing that the answer is 10 satisfies the equation.
These two techniques go hand in hand. Direct coding can be used to explicitly define a solution, while indirect coding relies on deduction and reasoning to uncover the solution through a series of clues
